Den
heutigen Tag habe ich mit Joggen begonnen... ich glaube, ich habe die einzige
Runde auf nicht gerade steilen Strassen der Insel gefunden! : ) Zum Schwimmen
wählte ich die Spiaggia delle Acque Calde mit seinem Schwefelgeruch und
brodelnden -quellen, wo das Wasser auch im Winter warm ist.
The day I started with a run... I think I found the only lap on not very steep roads on the island! : ) For swimming I chose the Spiaggia delle Acque Calde with its sulfur smell and bubbling-springs, where the water is warm even in winter.

Vulcano
ist übrigens in etwa 3 x 7 km gross ist und gehört wie alle andern Äolischen
Inseln zum UNESCO Weltkulturerbe...
By the way, Vulcano is about 3 x 7 km in size and, like all other Aeolian Islands, an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Zurück im
Hotel Garden, setzte ich mich draussen auf die Gartenterrasse und genoss das
ergiebige Buffet... das Hotel macht seinem Namen alle Ehre: Es liegt sehr ruhig
inmitten eines riesigen Gartens, zu Fuss gelangt man in 5 Minuten ins
pulsierende Zentrum Porto Levante und in 2 Minuten ist man am Strand Spiaggia
delle Sabbie Nere mit seinen spektakuläreren Sonnenuntergängen.
Back at the Hotel Garden, I sat outside on the garden terrace and enjoyed the rich buffet... the hotel lives up to its name: It is very quiet in the midst of a huge garden, within 5 minutes walk you reach the vibrant centre of Porto Levante and in 2 minutes you are on the beach Spiaggia delle Sabbie Nere with its spectacular sunsets.

Am
Nachmittag spazierte ich an den Hafen und setzte mich in das 33 Grad warme
Schlammbad des Vasca di Fanghi. Klar schmierte auch ich mich wie alle andern
mit Fango ein... Am Schluss gab es ein natürliches Jacuzzi (brodelnde
Schwefelquellen) im Meer. Man sollte aber Flipflops mitnehmen, sonst verbrennt
man sich an der heissen Luft, die aus zahlreichen kleinen Löchern aus dem Boden steigt!
In the afternoon I walked to the harbour and had a bath in the 33 centigrade hit mud bath of the Vasca di Fanghi. Of course I covered myself with fango like all the others... At the end I took a natural Jacuzzi (bubbling sulfur springs) in the sea. But you should take flip flops with you, otherwise you burn yourself in the hot air, which rises from numerous small holes from the ground!

spazierte ich rüber zur Spiaggia delle Sabbie Nere und genoss den schwarzen
Strand, die Sonne und das Meer...
Thereafter I walked over to the Spiaggia delle Sabbie Nere and enjoyed the black beach, the sun and the ocean…

Zum
Abendessen machte ich ein paar Schritte rüber zum Malvasia - einfach nur wow! :
) Malvasia ist übrigens eine alte Traubensorte und der typische Dessertwein der Inseln Vulcano und Lipari.

steps over to Malvasia - just wow! : ) Malvasia by the way is the name of an old
grape and the typical dessert wine of the islands Vulcano and Lipari.
