Heute
Morgen ging ich kurz nach 8 Uhr nochmals joggen und schwimmen, da ich schon mal
so eine super Runde gefunden hatte! : ) So früh rannte ich teilweise noch im
Schatten des Vulkans...
Nach einem letzten ergiebigen Frühstück auf der Gartenterrasse des Hotels Garden machte ich mich abreisebereit... Da ich das Tragflügelboot erst um 14:25 Uhr gebucht hatte, blieb mir genügend Zeit um meinen Blog zu aktualisieren und mit Nino das Haus zu besuchen, wo Anna Magnani 1949 wohnte, als sie den Film Vulcano drehte.
Shortly after 8 am this morning I went for a run and a swim, as I had already found such a great lap! : ) This early I ran partly in the shadow of the volcano…
After a last great breakfast on the garden terrace of the Hotel Garden I got ready to leave... Because I had booked the hydrofoil at 2:25 pm, I had enough time to update my blog and visit with Nino the house, where Anna Magnani lived in 1949 when working on the film Vulcano.

brachte mich der Hotelshuttle zum Hafen Porto Levante - nur 5 - 10 Minuten zu
Fuss entfernt, aber mit meinem vielen Gepäck war ich sehr dankbar! Dort
überraschte mich Nino, der 1x pro Woche geschäftlich nach Lipari fährt, und mir
ebenfalls mit meinem Gepäck half. - Ich sage immer: In meinem grossen Koffer
ist mein Liebhaber und im kleinen das Büro... ; ))
At the 2 pm the hotel shuttle took me to the harbour of Porto Levante - only 5 - 10 minutes’ walk away, but with my many luggage I was very grateful! There Nino surprised me and accompanied me to Lipari, which he visits once a week for business, and also helped me with my luggage. - I always explain: In my big suitcase there is my lover and in the small one my office... ; ))

After an appetizer at Il Piccolo Bar, I strolled to the Ristorante Pescheria at the entrance of the village of Canneto coming from the harbour. I was the only guest... at first I thought, because I was early at 8 pm for Sicilian standards... but I stayed the only one and when the bill came, I knew why: Someone really tried to rip me off! On my entire journey nobody had dared to present me such a bill up to now - and I have had dinner only in good or very good restaurants: EUR 42 for a thin slice of swordfish, some vegetables and 2 glasses of house wine... that was significantly too much! The owner may have a family from Gambia to entertain but I cannot make up for being the only guest! I gave him EUR 35 (still too much!) and my comment, that he not only harms himself, but his whole island, his country and humanity - what does he think I will tell and write?! : ((

Die
Überfahrt dauerte nur gerade 10 Minuten - Lipari und auch Salina sind von
Vulcano immer sichtbar. In Lipari erwartete mich der Shuttlebus des Hotel Amarea,
der mich zum ca. 3 km entfernten Canneto fuhr. Ich installierte mich für die
kommenden 4 Nächte in meinem hübschen Zimmer und ruhte mich etwas aus.
The crossing took only 10 minutes - you can see Lipari and Salina from Vulcano. In Lipari I was awaited by the shuttle bus of the Hotel Amarea and driven to Canneto, about 3 km away. I installed myself in my lovely room for the next 4 nights and took a rest.

Gegen
Abend spazierte ich entlang der Marina Garibaldi um Canneto
auszukundschaften... es hat einen ca. 1,5 km langen Kieselstrand und hier ist
richtig was los im Vergleich zu Vulcano! Es scheint ein kleiner lieblicher Ort
zu sein - ideal um ruhig zu logieren und die Insel zu erforschen! : )
Towards the evening I took a walk along the Marina Garibaldi to scout Canneto... there is a pebble beach of about 1.5 km and here is really something going on in comparison to Vulcano! It seems to be a small lovely place - ideal for a quiet stay and explore the island! : )

Nach
einem Apero im Il Piccolo Bar schlenderte ich zum Ristorante Pescheria eingangs
Canneto vom Hafen ausgesehen. Ich war der einzige Gast... zuerst dachte ich,
weil ich um 20 Uhr eher etwas früh dran war für sizilianische Verhältnisse...
aber ich blieb die Einzige und als die Rechnung kam, wusste ich weshalb: Da wollte
mich doch tatsächlich jemand übers Ohr hauen! Eine solche Rechnung hat mir
bisher auf meiner ganzen Reise niemand getraut zu präsentieren - und ich habe
nur in guten bis sehr guten Restaurants zu Abend gegessen: EUR 42 für eine
dünne Tranche Schwertfisch, etwas Gemüse und 2 Gläser Hauswein... das war
bedeutend zu viel! Der Besitzer hat vielleicht eine Familie aus Gambia zu
unterhalten aber es kann nicht an mir liegen als einziger Gast das alles gut zu
machen! Ich gab ihm EUR 35 (immer noch zu viel!) und meinen Kommentar, dass er
nicht nur sich selber Schaden zuführt, sondern seiner ganzen Insel, seinem Land
und der Menschheit - was werde ich wohl weitererzählen und schreiben?! : ((
