Als mein Wecker um 8 Uhr ging, war es bewölkt, so dass ich gleich eine Programmänderung vornahm und mich nochmals aufs Ohr legte...
When my alarm clock went off at 8 am, it was cloudy, so I immediately changed my programme and went back to sleep…

Um 9:30 Uhr begab ich mich auf die Terrasse zum Frühstück und die Wolken lockerten sich auf... Eine Stunde später war ich auf dem Weg zum Krater. Der Vulcano schläft zwar und hatte seinen letzten Ausbruch 1888, zählt aber zu einem der gefährlichsten Europas. Er gehört in Europa zum grössten meist unter Wasser bestehenden Marsili System. Nach einer halben Stunde war ich 380 m höher und genoss den fantastischen Ausblick rund um den Krater wandernd!
At 9:30 am I went to the terrace for breakfast and the clouds loosened up... An hour later I was on my way to the crater. Although the Vulcano sleeps and had its last eruption in 1888, it is one of the most dangerous in Europe. It is one of the largest systems in Europe, called Marsili, mostly under water. After half an hour I was 380 m higher and enjoyed the fantastic view hiking around the crater!

2 Stunden später befand ich mich im Schwefel-Schlammbad Vasca di Fanghi bevor es kurz zurück zum Hotel Garden ging. Da das Hotel morgen ausgebucht ist, hatte ich heute ein voll gepacktes Programm.
2 hours later I was in the sulfur mud bath of Vasca di Fanghi before I quickly went back to the Hotel Garden. Since the hotel is fully booked tomorrow, I had a packed programme today.

Um 15 Uhr traf ich Nino und Capitano Sebastiano am Spiaggia delle Sabbie Nere für eine Inselrundfahrt per Boot. Das war die beste Idee um in 2 Stunden die schönsten Plätze zu sehen, die eh nur per Boot erreichbar sind, inklusive 2 Badestopps! : )
At 3 pm I met Nino and his Capitano Sebastiano at Spiaggia delle Sabbie Nere for an island tour by boat. This was the best idea to see the most beautiful places in 2 hours, which are only accessible by boat, including 2 stops for swimming! : )

Bevor es
mit Nino vom Hotel Garden zum Abendessen ins La Forcia da Maurizio ging,
bewunderte ich nochmals den fantastischen Sonnenuntergang an der Spiaggia delle
Sabbie Nere. Nino, der seit den 60-er Jahren hier auf Vulcano lebt, hatte mir
viel über die Insel zu erzählen… so hat es hier auf der ca. 21 km2
und 3. grössten der Äolischen Inseln nur 650 Einwohner, sie ist seit 1950
bewohnt (vielleicht schon vorher, nur der Vulkan brodelte bis 1888 und hat
damit alle Spuren verbrannt?) und wurde durch die Filme Stromboli und Vulcano berühmt...

Before waking to La Forcia
da Maurizio for dinner with Nino from the Hotel Garden, I once again admired
the fantastic sunset at the Spiaggia delle Sabbie Nere. Nino, who has been
living here on Vulcano since the 60s, had a lot to tell me about the island...
so there are only 650 inhabitants on the ca. 21 km2 and the third
largest of the Aeolian Islands, it has been inhabited since 1950 (maybe even
before, only the volcano was activ until 1888 and burned all traces?) and
became famous through the movies Stromboli and Vulcano...
