Heute Morgen
erschrak ich selber: Es war bereits 10 Uhr als ich aufwachte! Ich benötigte
eine halbe Stunde um mich zu sammeln, dann begab ich mich zum ausgiebigen
Frühstück...
This morning I was startled: It was already 10 am when I woke up! It took me half an hour to gather myself before I went for a hearty breakfast...

Bis ich
am Mittag bei Da Lorenzo eintraf, hatten sich die restlichen Wolken verzogen -
genau richtig für mein Vorhaben: eine Inselrundfahrt mit Mietauto! Zudem war
auch die Zeit bis ich abfuhr ideal, fast niemand war unterwegs weil es
Mittagszeit war. Und das war gar nicht so schlecht, denn einige Strassen waren
eher für Esel als für Autos gebaut! ; )
By the time I arrived at Da Lorenzo at noon, the remaining clouds had disappeared - just perfect for my plan: an island tour with a rental car! In addition, until I drove off it was the ideal time as there was almost nobody on the street because of lunchtime. And that really helped because some streets were built more for donkeys than for cars! ; )

Auf jeden
Fall fühlte ich wiedermal die pure Freiheit mich bewegen zu können wann und wo
ich wollte! Lipari ist übrigens die grösste Insel des Archipels: 38 km2
und hat 12000 Einwohner (20 x mehr als Vulcano, die minim kleiner ist). Zudem hat
es auf Lipari eine 33 km lange Rundstrasse und man sieht alle 6 andern
Äolischen Inseln.
In any case, I once again felt the sheer freedom of being able to move when and where I wanted! Incidentally, Lipari is the largest island in the archipelago: 38 km2 with about 12,000 inhabitants (20 times more than Vulcano, which is minimally smaller). Furthermore there is a 33 km long lap around Lipari and you can see all the other 6 Aeolian Islands.

4 Stunden
später nach vielen Fotostopps hatte ich die Insel fast umrundet, als ich in der
Spiaggia Bianca einen Rast machte: Ich genoss die letzten Sonnenstrahlen und
vor allem eine Abkühlung im Meer, denn heute war es wirklich heiss (um 30
Grad)!
4 hours later after many photo stops, I had almost circled the island, when I made a rest in the Spiaggia Bianca: I enjoyed the last rays of the sun and especially a cooling in the sea - today it was really hot (around 30 centigrade)!

Für den
Sonnenuntergang fuhr ich zurück zum Ristorante Vent8 kurz vor Acquacalda, wo
nicht nur die Sonne einen fantastischen Abgang machte, sondern von dessen
Terrasse man 5 der andern 6 Inseln im Blick hat: Alicudi, Filicudi, Salina,
Panarea und Stromboli. Zudem wurde ich vorzüglich von Lucia, Gaetano und Angelo
bewirtet. : )
For the sunset, I drove back to the Ristorante Vent8 just before Acquacalda, where not only the sun made a fantastic finish, but from its terrace you can see 5 of the other 6 islands: Alicudi, Filicudi, Salina, Panarea and Stromboli. Moreover, I was excellently hosted by Lucia, Gaetano and Angelo. : )

Zurück in
Canneto setzte ich mich auf die Terrasse am Meer des Restaurant Ritrovo Calandra und
genoss vorzüglichen gegrillten Schwertfisch, Parmigiana (überbackene
Auberginen, was ich jeden Tag essen kann!) mit fantastischem Bio-Chardonnay.
Nachdem ich den Fiat Punto nach total 55 km bei Da Lorenzo abgestellt hatte,
passierte ich das einladende Papisca... natürlich konnte ich einem leckeren Eis
nicht widerstehen und wurde prompt vom Besitzer dazu eingeladen - grazie mille:
ein krönender Abschluss eines ebensolchen Tages! : ))

Back in Canneto, I took a
table on the terrace by the sea of the restaurant Ritrovo Calandra and enjoyed terrific
grilled swordfish, Parmigiana (baked aubergines, which I can eat every day!)
with fantastic organic chardonnay. After having returned the Fiat Punto after
total 55 km at Da Lorenzo, I passed the inviting Papisca... of course, I could
not resist to have a delicious ice cream and was promptly invited for it by the
owner - grazie mille: a grand final of a splendid day! : ))
