Den
heutigen Tag begann ich mit Yoga auf meiner oberen Terrasse... Es war bewölkt,
so machte ich es mir danach mit Espresso, Tee sowie meiner Arbeit gemütlich in
meinem wunderschönen Zimmer...
Today I started my day with yoga on my upper terrace... It was cloudy, thus thereafter I made myself comfortable with espresso, tea and work in my beautiful room...

Wie ein
unberechenbarer Vulkan es so an sich hat, wurde auch mein Programm plötzlich
über den Haufen geworfen: Renato war mit der Kaskazi Free unterwegs von Panarea
nach Kalabrien und machte einen Zwischenhalt auf Stromboli - klar liess ich
alles liegen und stehen um mit ihm ein paar Stunde auf dem Meer zu verbringen!
: ) Zuerst fuhren wir in die Nähe der Sciara del Fuoco
(Feuerrutsche/Vulkanablagerung), wo wir ein erfrischendes Bad nahmen und
zusehen konnten, wie die Lava herunterfloss und mit einer Gischt im Meer
erlosch... Dann ging es zum Strombolicchio, dem Felsen mit dem Leuchtturm vor
dem Ort Stromboli. Hier führt eine Treppe hoch zum Leuchtturm - mir reichte
aber der dramatische Anblick bei Bewölkung! : ))
Like an unpredictable volcano, my programme was suddenly thrown overboard: Renato was bringing the Kaskazi Free from Panarea to Calabria, making a stopover on Stromboli – of course I left everything to spend some time on the sea with! :) First, we drove to the vicinity of the Sciara del Fuoco (fire slide/volcanic deposition), where we took a refreshing bath and watched the lava flowing down and extinguishing with a splash in the sea... Then we drove to Strombolicchio, the rock with the lighthouse in front of the village of Stromboli. Here a staircase leads up to the lighthouse - but for me the dramatic view in cloudy weather was enough! : ))

Als
Renato sich auf den Weg nach Kalabrien (2 Stunden Fahrt) machte, organisierte
ich meinen letzten Abend auf Stromboli, die Weiterreise nach und das Hotel auf
Salina. Dann machte ich mich auf den Weg zum Osservatorio, wo ich für heute
Abend einen Tisch reserviert hatte. Nach 45 Minuten Marsch bergauf erreichte
ich es, wanderte aber noch etwas weiter um einen wundervollen Sonnenuntergang
zu bewundern... Zurück im Ristorante/Pizzeria Osservatore setzte ich mich
draussen an einen Tisch. Es war windig und kühl, trotzdem füllte sich das
Restaurant. Während wir alle auf das Feuerspektakel warteten, genoss ich den
besten Fisch bisher: einen Mupa.
Während meinen Tagen hier auf Stromboli habe ich immer wieder erfahren, dass die Wanderung hoch zum 920 m hohen Vulkan die Touristenattraktion ist und seit das wegen seiner Aktivität nicht mehr möglich ist, bleiben die Touristen aus... Eigentlich schade, da das allnächtliche Feuerspektakel (es gibt auch Ausflüge per Boot) sowie die enorme Energie, die der Stromboli versprüht, sind mehr als ein Grund hierhin zu reisen!!!
When Renato made his way to Calabria (2 hours’ drive), I organized my last evening on Stromboli, the onward journey to and the hotel on Salina. Thereafter I made my way to the Osservatorio, where I had reserved a table for tonight. After a 45 minutes’ walk uphill I reached it, but hiked a bit further to see a magnificent sunset... Back at the Ristorante/Pizzeria Osservatore I took a table outside. It was windy and rather cool, yet the restaurant filled up. While we were all waiting for the fire spectacle, I enjoyed the best fish so far: a mupa.
During my days here on Stromboli, I have heard again and again that the hike up to the 920 m high volcano is the tourist attraction and since that is no longer possible because of its activity, the tourists stay out... A pity, since the nightly fire spectacle (there are also excursions by boat) as well as the enormous energy which the Stromboli exudes, it is more than a reason to travel here!!!

ging es mit dem Restaurantshuttle - so genial, dass man den Weg in der
Dunkelheit nicht suchen muss! : ) Die beiden andern Mitfahrenden Carla und
Mario aus Florenz (sie haben hier auf Stromboli ein Haus) luden mich danach auf
einen Dorfspaziergang ein, der durch alle 3 Teile Strombolis führte: Piscita,
Ficogrande und San Vincenzo... endlich sah ich mal den Dorfplatz bei der Kirche
von San Vincenzo - die vielen Kirchen auf Stromboli dienen den Einwohnern auch
als Schutzbunker! Auf der Piazza kehrten wir im Ritrovo Ingrid ein, genannt
nach Ingrid Bergman, die hier vor gaaanz langer Ziet den Film Stromboli gedreht
hat. Auf dem Rückweg fand ich doch tatsächlich einen Bankomat, der
funktionierte - nun bin ich wieder flüssig! : ) Der Küstenstrasse entlang mit
interessanten Gesprächen gelangten wir schlussendlich an die Spiaggia
Ficogrande und so ging ein weiterer fantastischer Tag auf den Äolischen Inseln
zu Ende…

Back I drove with the
restaurant shuttle – just brilliant that you do not have to search the way in
the dark! : ) The two other passerngers Carla and Mario from Florence (they
have a house here on Stromboli) invited me for a walk through the village,
which led through all 3 parts of Stromboli: Piscita, Ficogrande and San
Vincenzo... finally I saw the village square near the church of San Vincenzo -
the many churches on Stromboli also serve as shelter bunkers for the
inhabitants! On the piazza we went to Ritrovo Ingrid, named after Ingrid
Bergman, who shot the film Stromboli here a looong time ago. On the way back I
actually found a cash machine that worked - now I'm liquid again! : ) Along the
coastal road with interesting discussions we finally reached the Spiaggia
Ficogrande and that’s how another fantastic day on the Aeolian Islands came to an
end...
